The Butterfly Virtual Run

Fly away butterfly, as high as you can go, I’m right there with you, more than you know

Could you be one of the 150 people who take part in our first ever Butterfly themed Virtual Run this May? Not only will you receive an exclusive Butterfly medal for your achievement, you’ll be helping us continue to prevent stillbirth in the UK.

What is a Virtual Run?

A Virtual Run is a run on your terms. You can choose to cover one of our suggested distances of 2k, 5k or 10k OR you can choose your own challenge like “how many steps in a day” or “how many miles on a treadmill in two weeks” or even a half marathon distance. You might take to the great outdoors and run round your local town, or you might complete your challenge on a gym treadmill. As it’s Spring, there are two Bank Holidays AND school half term in May, perhaps you could get a group of friends and children together to take part in a buggy walk or jog laps of your local park.

When can I do my Virtual Run?

Complete your event any day in May 2018. If time, injury or the weather doesn’t permit you to taking part during the month, you can take part at a later date, just let us know.

How do I claim my medal?

Your medal will be sent to you AFTER you have submitted proof of completing your event. You need to email fundraising@kickscount.org.uk evidence of completion, such as a screen shot of your Fitbit stats, Apple Watch Health app, free mobile apps such as Strava and MapMyRun, official race times from ParkRun or a local race, a photo of the gym treadmill display or even a photo of you out running or walking. If you do not email fundraising@kickscount.org.uk your evidence, your medal will not be posted.

If I’d like to, how can I raise additional funds for Kicks Count?

Kicks Count is a smaller charity than many realise, with the big mission of trying to save babies lives. 16 sets of parents go home without their baby every day single day in the UK. Help us reach more expectant mothers and tell them how important it is to monitor their baby’s movements and report any changes in patterns to ensure the safe arrival of more babies. You can download a sponsor form to collect extra donations or set up a JustGiving page to collect donations online. Raising just £50 could fund the printing of 700 maternity note inserts for expectant mothers, giving them important information about monitoring movements. Raising £100 could fund the printing of 1,000 posters for us to display in doctor and hospital waiting rooms for pregnant ladies to see. You can read more about what your donation would fund on our website. Every penny is gratefully received.
