Take part in Kicks Count’s Virtual December Dash event – we would love for you to santa sprint, jingle jog, winter walk or do a crimbo cycle of 2k, 5k or 10k. You’ll receive an exclusive santa medal for your hard work! This event is all about having some festive fun whilst raising funds and awareness, so anyone can take part! We have only 100 medals for this event, so grab some friends and family to spread some Christmas Cheer this December.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN?
A Virtual Run is a run on your terms. You can choose to cover one of our suggested distances of 2k, 5k or 10k OR you can choose your own challenge such as “how many steps in a day”, “how many miles on a treadmill in two weeks” or even a half marathon distance. You might take to the great outdoors and run round your local town, or you might complete your challenge on a gym treadmill. It’s all completely up to you.
Our theme for this event is … CHRISTMAS! Can you encourage friends or your children to run or walk with you, all dressed in Santa suits, elf hats, reindeer antlers or their best Christmas jumper? Whatever you decide to wear, we would love to see you embrace the theme and send us any great ideas or photos.
WHEN CAN I DO MY VIRTUAL RUN?
Complete your event anytime in December 2017. If time, injury or the weather doesn’t permit you to taking part during that month, you can take part at a later date, just let us know.
HOW DO I CLAIM MY MEDAL?
Your medal will be sent to you AFTER you have submitted proof of completing your event. You need to email email@example.com evidence of completion, such as a screen shot of your Fitbit stats, Apple Watch Health app, free mobile apps such as Strava and MapMyRun, official race times from ParkRun or a local race, a photo of the gym treadmill display or even a photo of you out running or walking. If you do not email firstname.lastname@example.org your evidence, your medal will not be posted.
HOW CAN I RAISE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR KICKS COUNT?
Kicks Count is a small charity with the big mission of trying to save little lives. 16 babies are born sleeping every day in the UK and only 10% of these deaths are because of a congenital abnormality. Help us reach more expectant mothers and tell them how important it is to monitor their baby’s movements and report any changes in patterns to ensure the safe arrival of more babies. You can download a sponsor form to collect extra donations or set up a JustGiving page to collect donations online. Raising just £50 could fund the printing of 500 maternity note inserts for expectant mothers, giving them important information about monitoring movements. Raising £100 could fund the printing of over 6,500 leaflets for us to hand out at the Baby Show! Every penny would be so gratefully received so that we can really start 2018 with a pot of Christmas cash to spend helping save little lives.
