Thank you for your interest in running for Kicks Count! You don’t have to be Mo Farrah to participate in a running event, there are events all across the UK and you can take things at your own pace. From marathons to fun runs and muddy assault courses, there really is something to suit every ability.
Below you can find a list of some popular events taking place across the UK this year. If you choose to take on the challenge of any of these events, thank you, we will support you all the way. Not only will we send you a free high-quality breathable running top, you will also have a dedicated contact, Tracy, who will provide support, materials, ideas and encouragement!
You can of course sign up to any other run that is happening locally to you. We’d be delighted to send you a running vest if you’re raising funds for Kicks Count, please just secure your place then complete the event registration form so we have your details.

Sprint Against Stillbirth Virtual Run

Looking for a fitness challenge to kick start 2018? Want to help us save little lives in 2018? Then take part in our Sprint Against Stillbirth virtual run this January! Set your own fitness challenge, whether it’s to walk 10,000 steps a day, take part in a 5k parkrun, complete 10k on a treadmill, cycle 10 miles or do a buggy walk with friends. Just complete your event, send us some proof (selfies on your challenge, a photo of a treadmill/gym bike display screen, Fitbit stats, official race results) and we’ll send you a glittery pink medal! Kicks Count organise this event and 100% of the profits come direct to the charity. Raising sponsorship is not an absolute requirement of this event, but we would of course be very grateful for any money raised. Brighton Marathon Weekend (and 10k!)

Distance: Mini mile, 10k and 26.2 miles
Brighton is a beautiful UK beach town to run at with sea gulls cheering you on along the sea front! There are now less than 500 places available for people to enter the Marathon on Sunday 15 April, so don’t delay, register today! We have a vest and fundraising materials that we can send you, plus we would be extremely grateful that you are helping us reduce the UK’s stillbirth rate. 16 sets of parents every day do not get to take their baby home from hospital. Edinburgh Marathon Festival

Edinburgh is a truly remarkable city with sights to excite everyone. May Bank Holiday weekend in Edinburgh is set to be amazing with a run length to suit everyone! There are new mini junior runs for children to take on 1k, 1.5k, 2k or even 5k. And for the adults the choice is between a 5k, 10k, half marathon and even a full 26.2 mile marathon! Great North Run

Location: Newcastle to South Shields (North East England)
The Great North Run is a truly electric event, it’s the biggest Half Marathon in the World – only the London Marathon comes close to the same amount of participants. People taking part run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields, being cheered on all the way by huge crowds!
The public ballot for the 2018 IS NOW OPEN! It will close on Monday 2 February, so make sure you apply on their website as soon as possible to try to get your own ballot place. If you are successful, we would be absolutely delighted if you would run for Kicks Count and help us save little lives in 2018. There will be no minimum sponsorship requirements and we can send you a free vest to wear whilst training and on the day.
We do have a couple of charity places which we ask for a £35 registration fee (non refundable if you have to pull out) and a £350 minimum sponsorship pledge. We advise that everyone applies in the ballot first. Run 13.1 miles around London past some memorable landmarks as well as through five of London’s beautiful Royal Parks in the autumn. October is Baby Loss Awareness Month with the International Wave of Light taking place this month too. Remember a baby this month and run the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds and awareness so more families don’t experience this heartache.
