Would you like to start 2018 with a fitness challenge whilst knowing you could be doing your bit to help reduce the tragic UK stillbirth rate? Now you can! Take part in our Sprint Against Stillbirth virtual run event this January by sprinting, jogging, walking or cycling 2k, 5k, 10k…..or your own distance! You’ll receive an exclusive sparkly Kicks Count medal for your hard work! This event is all about having some fun, remembering a loved lost one or tackling a New Year’s fitness challenge whilst raising funds and awareness; anyone can take part. We only have 100 medals for this event so sign up quick before they all go!

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN?

A Virtual Run is a run on your terms. You can choose to cover one of our suggested distances of 2k, 5k or 10k  OR  you can choose your own challenge such as “how many steps in a day”, “how many miles on a treadmill in two weeks” or even a half marathon distance. You might take to the great outdoors and run round your local town, or you might complete your challenge on a gym treadmill. It’s all completely up to you.

WHEN CAN I DO MY VIRTUAL RUN?

Complete your event anytime in January 2018. If time, injury or the weather doesn’t permit you to taking part during that month, you can take part at a later date, just let us know.

HOW DO I CLAIM MY MEDAL?

Medals will be available from the middle of the month. Your medal will be sent to you AFTER you have submitted proof of completing your event. You need to email fundraising@kickscount.org.uk evidence of completion, such as a screen shot of your Fitbit stats, Apple Watch Health app, free mobile apps such as Strava and MapMyRun, official race times from ParkRun or a local race, a photo of the gym treadmill display or even a photo of you out running or walking. If you do not email fundraising@kickscount.org.uk your evidence, your medal will not be posted.

HOW CAN I RAISE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR KICKS COUNT?

Kicks Count is a small charity with the big mission of trying to save little lives. 16 babies are born sleeping every day in the UK and only 10% of these deaths are because of a congenital abnormality. Help us reach more expectant mothers and tell them how important it is to monitor their baby’s movements and report any changes in patterns to ensure the safe arrival of more babies. You can download a sponsor form to collect extra donations or set up a JustGiving page to collect donations online. Raising just £50 could fund the printing of 500 maternity note inserts for expectant mothers, giving them important information about monitoring movements. Raising £100 could fund the printing of over 6,500 leaflets for us to hand out at the Baby Show! Every penny would be so gratefully received so that we can really start 2018 with a bang and help save more little lives this year.

Happy New Year to all our wonderful supporters.
