Babyloss Awareness Week begins on 9 October. It’s a time for bereaved parents, and their families and friends, to unite with others across the world to remember their babies.
This year for Baby Loss Awareness Week, along with over 40 other incredible charities, we want to raise awareness about the issues surrounding pregnancy and baby loss in the UK. We also want to push for improvements to bereavement support, so do look out for information on this throughout the week.
How can you get involved?
Please join us in raising awareness of baby loss, which is simply spoken about too little.
We were amazed at how quickly our pins sold out, a true reminder of how many incredible people want to be involved in the week. Though we no longer have stock, you can still get yours to wear with pride.FIND A STOCKIST
Take Part in the Global Wave of Light
Baby Loss Awareness Week finishes each year on October 15 with the global ‘Wave of Light’. October 15 is also International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and is recognised across the world. To join in, simply light a candle at 7pm and leave it burning for at least 1 hour to join us in remembering all of the babies who lit up our lives for such a short time.
We have just a few of these exclusive Wave of Light candles left available to buy from our shop, if you want to use one on the night be quick to get yours! All profits will come back into the charity, helping us to ensure that all mums in the UK are aware of the importance of their precious baby’s movements.
Display a Personalised Candle Image
If you’d like a personalised image to display throughout the week, we would be honoured to create one for you. As well as emailing your image to you within 2 working days, we will also be displaying them all in this Facebook album to honour our precious angels. Please give details of your personalisation under “ORDER NOTES” at the checkout, failure to do this could delay your image being created. The image will be emailed to the email address that you register with. Images are available for just £1 from our shop. We are thrilled that over £500 from the images and added additional donations has already been raised.
Join us in taking a selfie with the shown sign, remembering much loved babies and helping to break the silence around baby loss across the world. Upload your image to social media and share, share, share! We will also be creating an album of these images, so please do tag Kicks Count so we can include yours. Recommended hashtags to use are #babyloss #BreakTheSilence and #SayTheirName.
