When Jen became pregnant, her mum had seen Kicks Count appear on Surprise Surprise so decided to buy her daughter a wristband to help monitor movements. Jen was under consultant care and had regular scans as her little baby had a few episodes of reduced movement. At 37 weeks, he decided to make an early appearance and was healthy and well. When Jen’s son was 6 months old, she began running and earlier this year she took the plunge and registered for the Two Castles Run, a 10k run between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.
On Sunday 12 June, Jen completed the course and achieved her own personal best time for a 10k! She told us:
Thanks to Kicks Count for raising awareness of the importance of watching your baby’s movements! When pregnant I was constantly monitored for reduced foetal movement and had numerous scans and consultant appointments. My son was born on 23.01.2015 healthy and 5lb 11oz. This morning I gave something back and ran a 10k race in 1 hour and six minutes, it was wet and tough but I raised £235 for this amazing charity 🙂 Thanks Kicks Count!
Jen had hoped to raise £100 but her friends and family were very generous and she has now raised £235, which could fund over 15,000 leaflets for the charity to distribute! You can sponsor Jen online on her JustGiving page.
THANK YOU JEN!
