About

The Great North Run is a truly electric event, it’s the biggest Half Marathon in the World – only the London Marathon comes close to the same amount of participants. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields, being cheered on all the way by huge crowds!

I would like a guaranteed place:

We would love for you to join team Kicks Count. If you choose to use one of our guaranteed places, you'll be taking on a fantastic personal challenge.

To secure your place, we ask for a non-refundable fee of £30 and a commitment to raise £350 to help us save babies lives. £350 is an incredible amount of money for a small charity - we could supply eight maternity waiting rooms with an awareness-raising banner or provide 17 families with a parents and sibling bundle via our Finding a Rainbow Project.

In return for your fantastic support, we will support you every step of the way - to get you to your fundraising target, and across the finish line.

  • Tips and ideas to kick start and support your fundraising efforts
  • Access to our brand new Team Kicks Count Facebook group
  • A Team Kicks Count running vest
  • Support from a dedicated fundraising contact as and when you need

Are you ready? Book your place below.

I have a ballot place:

If you were lucky enough to secure a ballot place we would love to welcome you to the team too! Register with us and we can send you a free running vest and anything else you need. As the charity hasn't paid for your place, you won't have to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship, just raise what you can!

Last year I took on the Great North Run; it was a fantastic personal achievement. In 2011, my husband and I went to our local MRU with reduced movements and were told that our little boy hadn't made it. It was the most devastating day of my life and a memory that will never go away no matter how much time passes. During my pregnancy I'd not been aware of the importance of monitoring movements. It was my first pregnancy and the prospect of losing my baby after the first 12 weeks wasn't even considered. It was during the time after Joshua's birth I came across Kicks Count and the important work that they do providing information to mums-to-be - Gillian
