Katy Perry announced the birth of her first child, a daughter called Daisy Dove, with fiancé Orlando Bloom on Wednesday.

Singer Perry, 35, and actor Bloom, 43, shared a sweet black and white photo of them holding onto their newborn's tiny hand.  

In homage to their baby girl, the Firework hitmaker had a white daisy visible on her thumbnail as she held Daisy's hand. Daisies hold a special significance for the couple. Orlando proposed with an ornate daisy shaped engagement ring on Valentine's Day 2019.

'We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,' said the couple in a statement to UNICEF. 

Katy and Orlando are Goodwill Ambassadors for the charity and are asking their friends, family and fans to support UNICEF in celebration of their daughter's arrival, saying in a statement: 

"As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival.
