Emma Smith

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I’ve thought about challenging myself to do something like this for a while and when I received this email today I knew this was the one for me.

Baby Loss Awarness week is 9th to 15th October and in memory of my niece Holly Mae Royston who was born prematurely in 2010 im committing to walking 100 miles in the month of October!

I’m raising money for Kicks Count because I support their initiative to offer support to families during their Rainbow Pregnancy, a pregnancy following the loss of a previous baby.

Kicks Count have been producing Finding a Rainbow Bundles since mid 2018 and are providing them to families free of charge via registered midwives in the UK. Speaking about the project, Kicks Count CEO Elizabeth said:

"A rainbow pregnancy has so many mixed emotions, I couldn’t plan for his birth because I knew I might not bring him home. I loved feeling his kicks but I was petrified each one would be his last. I knew I wouldn’t relax until he was in my arms.
A lot of people assume a rainbow pregnancy is all joy and happiness. But it can actually be a very worrying and stressful time. I wanted to create something that would acknowledge how different a rainbow pregnancy is and hopefully offer some support.
I remember feeling quite isolated with my rainbow pregnancy as everyone was so excited for me but I was so nervous. I would have taken great comfort from the rainbow project had it been around at the time. I also think the book we have created is so valuable in explaining a previous stillbirth to a child, something I struggled to do."

It’s a great cause, and your donation will help them achieve even more. Donating is easy, quick and secure.

Please share with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter – and elsewhere – so I can reach my target and together we can help Kicks Count do more. Thank you!
