At 38 weeks pregnant, I noticed a change in pattern in my baby’s movements. Because of the incredible midwives at Liverpool Women’s Hospital (supported by kicks count), I knew this was something to get checked out. After being hooked up to a monitor, my baby’s heartbeat was too fast and I was immediately rushed to have an emergency C section. Ivy (my daughter) was born half an hour later at a tiny but healthy 5 pound 2 ounces. The Doctor in charge said that had I come in any later it would have been a very different story for myself and my baby girl. I want all pregnant women to monitor their movements and not be afraid to get anything checked out! I want to help to reduce the rate of still birth in the UK and support kicks count - they already do an amazing job! Let’s make still birth rare in the UK. Lois Wright
