Celebrate Rainbow Baby Day with us

We love rainbow babies. Here at Kicks Count, we have precious rainbow children of our own. We understand that our rainbows are beautiful and followed our storms. There is no denying our storms happened, but our rainbows offer beauty and hope of brighter days. We want to celebrate these miracle rainbows whilst honouring our lost loved ones. So why not join us in a Rainbow Ramble or Run on Rainbow Baby Day on Thursday 22 August?

You can choose your own personal challenge to celebrate the special rainbow in your life, whilst wearing your brightest rainbow colours. Whether you want to challenge yourself to walk 15,000 steps in one day, ramble with friends, support your child doing 10 laps of the park on their scooter or run a half marathon...it's up to you!

WHEN CAN I DO MY RAINBOW RAMBLE OR RUN?

We'd love as many people as possible to take part on Thursday 22nd August on Rainbow Baby Day. But if you can't celebrate your precious rainbows this day, then please feel free to pick any date in August. Whenever you do it, dress in your brightest colours!

HOW DO I COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE?

The beauty of this challenge is it's flexibility. You can set yourself any challenge depending on your fitness level and what available time you have. Here are some suggestions you may want to use:

  • Organise a buggy walk with new baby-mum friends. You could finish at a cafe for a celebratory cake and coffee!
  • Fingers crossed the sun will be out in the Summer Holidays! Use the school holidays to have a family challenge, whether it's skipping round a playground, rambling through the woods, scooting along cycle tracks or bike riding through the park. We love this bright tutu to wear whilst completing your challenge!
  • Walk 10,000, 15,000 or even 20,000 steps in one day. Why not paint your face with rainbows whilst walking?
  • Already a seasoned runner? Sign up for a local race and use it as an opportunity to celebrate your rainbow, or even plot your own local route and run solo or with run buddies. 10k, half marathon, full marathon...whatever you fancy!
  • Go to the gym and row, cycle or walk/run on the treadmill for a set distance on Rainbow Baby Day
  • Swimming more your thing? Swim a certain distance or lengths of a pool
  • Walk or run your local 5k parkrun event. There are thousands all over the country, just visit their website, register for free and take your barcode along Saturday morning at 9am. On Sunday at 9am, there's even a 2k junior parkrun if your child wants a challenge to complete

Just remember to wear your brightest clothes and post about your challenge on social media, tagging @kicks.count. Our charity needs to spread awareness of the importance of baby movements so by talking about our charity on Rainbow Baby Day, you'll be helping us spread vital information.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER?

Nothing! We want people to celebrate their rainbow babies, brighten up Thursday 22 August with their colourful clothing and raise awareness of our charity. If you would like to support our Rainbow Baby Project, a bundle of rainbow items we post free of charge to those experiencing an anxious pregnancy after a loss, you can donate via our website or text RAINBOW to 70145 to donate £5 to the charity.

RAISE FUNDS AND RECEIVE A FREE RAINBOW PIN BADGE

As a small charity with no Government or NHS funding, we appreciate any funds you can raise. Create a fundraising page on our website then post it on your social media or email to contacts asking for sponsors. Top tip...small children seem to do very well raising funds from grannies and aunties! As a thank you, anyone who raises over £20 will be sent a free sparkly rainbow pin badge. After you have completed your event and raised the £20, drop us an email with a screenshot of your fitbit, apple fitness, Strava workout or photos from your event and some information about what you did as we'd love to hear about it!  Your badge will then be posted to you.
