  • Baby Loss Awareness Week

Baby Loss Awareness Week

Each year October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

Particularly poignant is 9-15 October - Baby Loss Awareness Week. Throughout the week bereaved parents, their families and friends, unite with each other and others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives.

In the UK, Baby Loss Awareness Week is a collaboration between more than 60 charities, including Kicks Count.

Now in its 19th year, Baby Loss Awareness Week calls to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss, with a particular focus on the wellbeing of those touched by the loss of a baby.

We know this can be an intense and upsetting time. If you need support, here you'll find support organisations and useful links.

WAYS TO BE INVOLVED:

ORDER A PERSONALISED IMAGE

To honour your babies, we create personalised images of remembrance each year.  Not only is it a lovely way to remember your baby, every penny raised supports our work preventing stillbirth.

ORDER AN IMAGE

JOIN THE GLOBAL WAVE OF LIGHT

Light a candle at 7pm on 15th October and join others across the globe remembering the babies who lit up our lives for too short a time.

During the Wave of Light, our CEO will be going live on our Facebook page at 7pm with a candle burning. If you have ordered a personalised image, your baby's name will be read out and remembered.

Please do take a picture of your candle burning and post it to Facebook or Twitter using the hastag #waveoflight

ORDER A PERSONALISED CANDLE

If you'd like to use one for the Wave of Light, we're thrilled to have these beautiful personalised candles available to buy from our shop. Your unique candle can be personalised with your baby's name and date.

All profits will come back into the charity, helping us to prevent stillbirth and neonatal death.
